Asti Livingston

Singing

Asti started singing when she was 9 years old. Initially she sang at various corporate and family functions. In San Diego, Asti joined the renowned Mission San Diego de Alcala Choir. In addition to regular church services and weddings Asti sang at St. Markʼs Basilica in Venice, the U.S.S Kittyhawk, St. Peterʼs Basilica in Rome, and for the Pope at the Vatican.

Astiʼs formal training also started in San Diego. She trained with a former Opera singer while singing for the Grossmont College Choir and the San Diego Mission Choir. Later selected to be 1 of 4 in a Vocal Master Class, Asti had the opportunity to meet and train with Marni Nixon. Miss Nixon was the true singing voice behind Audrey Hepburn, Deborah Kerr, and Natalie Wood from My Fair Lady, An Affair to Remember, The King and I, and West Side Story. She also played Sister Sophia in the movie The Sound of Music. Meeting her was a life changing event for Asti.

Asti has performed at the Glen Gould Studio, and has repeat performances at The Rivoli. She has sung at the Grand Canyon Hotel, The Banyan Tree Resort in Bali, and Wakatobi Dive Resort in Indonesia. Asti played Mimi for the musical Miss Saigon, on occasion sing at weddings, and have sung the Canadian National Anthem at the Elsie McGill Northern Lights Award, an award given to a woman who has reached the highest aviation achievement in Canada.
